The biggest draw of Kagura is great powder snow due to its high altitude. The ski area also has easy access to the backcountry area that attracts expert riders from all over the world. Stay at Wada Goya, a mountain hut on the ski hill, and enjoy the pure first track in the morning.

This is basically a mountain for beginners however it is difficult to find your way around. The mountain is average in size but with poor signage and slow lifts that do not connect very well.

From Echigo Yuzawa station, we took a last trip bus at 11.38 to kagura, just about 20 minutes to reach there. We just wanted to see and play with snow, just paid for the ropeway which is 1,100/adult and free for children. It was a...More

Kagura is basically two carparks with gondolas up to the ski area and not much side activities and no big hotel complex. For such services near Kagura would be at Naeba prince resort, linked to Kagura by Dragondola.

Should be similar price to other resorts. But the rental is quite limited (small outfit) at the bottom of the gondola. If you mean clothing, it would be better to just buy back home (e.g. decathlon) and bring over.
