Though small, the employees at the seal centre were extremely passionate and dedicated in raising the seals under their charge. We were told that the seals in the centre were not captive and were rescued seals who were either lost or orphaned. At no point...More

The place is small, but the key highlight is that you get to stroke a seal during feeding time. There’s about 5 feeding times throughout the day. 10.30, 11.30 and so on. Parking is free. Entrance fee is 200 yen per adult.

The sea seals were lovely and kept on chasing their handlers for food. We have missed the scheduled feeding time and the staff was so kind to do the feeding again so that we didn't need to wait for another 30-45 minutes during the strong...More

We visited at 330pm and left kind of disappointed, so were a few others who left wondering about what's the draw of this seal center. Returned the following day at 1130am for feeding time. The experience is vastly better during feeding time as you get...More

We visited it during a cold rainy day. It's an event that my children enjoyed having to get a chance to see seals and touch them too.

If you are in Monbetsu, it's worth taking a quick look at this facility. There are some seals in about four little pools. You can watch them swimming around and if you time your visit well you can see them being fed.

We enjoyed our time there and spent there 30min-1h. The seals look really healthy, but I think the tanks are too small for them. I hope they will have more space in the future. There was a show of 15 minutes, where we at the...More

Seals are well taken care of and are really cute. There is a short show where you can get up close and touch the seals. Admission fee of 200 yen goes to maintain the center. Small place so you can complete it in an hour...More

The seals are in pools and you can watch them. Some were trained, we saw a feeding time, they did a few tricks for fish and then we got to say hello and pat them. The whole thing is outside though so if you go...More
