To understand the local area I normally find the small local museums a great information source. The displays are well labelled for French and English.

Took my parents to Bourail for the day. Lovely tables in the shade outside the museum so had our picnic lunch there. No charge and beautiful location. Took a tour of the museum and it catered well for english speakers. While small it was very...More

Excellent local museum with good English interpretation. New Caledonia's only guile-teen was a surprise. Also went to the local markets which are not large but a great spot to people watch

Museum rather sparse and little English interpretations. Guillotine was fascinating😧. Not expensive to visit worth the stop

This museum is an absolute must! Very inexpensive, $2.50 per adult, it's a walk through the island's history. There's a display of old farm machinery and blacksmithing tools, a typical home at the turn of the century, native practices (that aren't well researched), the military...More

It amazes me that these tiny towns have a real museum, but it was pretty impressive given the size of the town. It was small, inexpensive and a nice overview of the history of the area. My kids love the guillotine upstairs. Wander outside too...More

Sorry Bev P., haven't been looking at Trip Advisor, and didn't see your question. Unfortunatly, I don't know the cost of trip you ask about.
