Beautiful and serene construction. Requiring a bit of maintenance and a tidy up, but still worthwhile to pull-in at the side of the road for some time to view and take some photos.

Very quaint Stupa surrounded by a lovely lily pond. It is painted in the usual brilliant white and catches the sun beautifully. It is right beside the lake which makes for a lovely walk. We were in Tissa for two days doing Yala Safaris. If...More

If you are passing this temple en route to your destination, this is a good place to visit since a museum is also situated next to the temple, showcasing the history of Sir Lanka..

If you are staying in Tissa and have time to explore the town - e.g., before / after a Safari, this is nice to visit and you can easily walk from the Tissa main road

This dagoba here is smaller than the main one to the east, but it's quaint in its own way, as it's surrounded by a moat with lotus leaves. It also offers more tranquility, as it's not as crowded.

Very peaceful, people seem to forget leave this pagoda out. There is a small museum to the side that has pieces dating back to 2BC.

The place is quiet big and very neatly maintained. I liked the Pure white color be it the temple exterior or the white clothes of the locals and even the hotel linen and bathrooms are sparkling white. Its really amazing

Fascinating place right next to the main road from Debarawewa to Tissa. Huge dagoba apparently filled with earth with some interesting carvings on the perimeter walls. Nice setting with water around. Ancient and interesting.
