A museum with no funding and run by volunteers who gratefully receive and donations be it artifacts or financial. An excellent , fascinating and educational 2 hours spent and considering only £3 great value.

Housd in the last remaining Georgian powder store in Europe (apparently) the building itself is a listed building and it houses a lot of military memorabilia. Its presentation is somewhat haphazard and if you work your way round, you will suffer from information overload. Much...More

This is a bit off the main track. Had passed it several times before. It was fascinating t o see all the memoirs from the wars and lots of other aged but in Perfect conditions on display. Truly an Aladdin's Cave. Quaint little cafe. Lovely...More

The Purfleet Heritage Military Centre. are open 10am - 3:30pm Sundays, Thursdays, and Bank Holiday Mondays. Their website is down at time of writing......I hope to visit soon

Its like Aladdins cave - its full of odds and ends - you can spend a long time just wondering around.Check with their web site re opening times and activities.
