If you're staying in Vangsnes you must visit this statue and read about it. It's quite interesting. But it is in the middle of nowhere, and I don't think it's worth going there.

A small, idyllic parc with the statue of Fridtjov. The statue was given as a gift to the community by the German Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1913. The view from here over Sognefjorden is just amazing. I can heartily recommend a stop here!
