We only went past this part of the countryside from St Hilaire De Riez. The scenrey is quiet and untouched.A nice tranquil journey though on the way to Les Sables D'olonne,in 2014.

as we were there in may and fancied the tour we were disappointed that it wasn't yet open. but did manage a short stroll around the area. better information on opening dates should be included in tourist publications.

We visit les Marais Salants in August and felt we would have enjoyed the visit more had there been an English version of the tour available.

Salt Marshes are a large feature of the Vendee, so it was good to see one and learn about it. However, the tour guides only speak French - so skip the tour unless your French is good!
