Loved this place ... nice for a winter walk but would love to come back in summer. Great views. Nicer than the other side of the basin. Would like to have tried chez hortense famous mussels but it’s closed until March.
On a hot hot day leaving early from our hotel in Pessac. Only 40 mins drive. Parking not a problem and free. Visiting local oyster farm fishing areas. If you want time on the beach bay side then the morning is best.
Take a short bus ride (no81) from Nice for €1.5 each way and you arrive at St Jean. Then a Short walk away you come to a narrow Coastal footpath which goes around the base of the cap.

The dunes and beach were closed to the public on May 1st 2016 and there's no sign that they're planning to reopen them.
They say there's a risk of collapsing of the dune.
