Great British Food Festival
May 2019 • Couples
A fantastic day out and the first time we had been to the show here, we have been to Cosford and the Food Show at Birmingham and were not sure what to expect from this one. We arrived at 10am which was when it started and the parking was well organised which is always a good sign!! It was a lovely sunny day and there were plenty of demonstrations as well as a really good variety of food stalls, There was also a craft tent and things for the kids to do as well as seating round and about.
We also had a walk down to the lake as well as a walk around the house but didn't go in as we had been to a wedding there a few years ago so knew what it was like inside.
After 3 1/2 hours we made our way out with our purchases and after trying the Indian food, a pulled pork roll and tea and cocktails!
A fantastic day out.

Stately home Xmas Fayre
Nov 2018 • Friends
Chillington Hall is only open to the public a few times a year. This occasion was a Xmas craft fair which for the small entrance fee of £5.00, included coffee and a mince pie. It was a great chance to view some of the rooms, not entirely hidden by the various stalls. The was a wide range of items for sale and lovely to see them in such a grand setting. Parking was in the grounds below the house (no fee).

A lovely family home that’s only open a few times a year. Set in beautiful open grounds within a short distance from Wolverhampton. Lots of interesting things to see and beautiful family home. Worth a visit.

Went on one of their few general open days
Jul 2018 • Couples
It was only open between 2 and 4. My husband was born in this area and always wanted to visit, Not impressive from the outside but the lady who conducted the tour sprinkled that special feeling on our visit. We visited just a few rooms but she made them come alive. I particularly liked the family history....how can you not enjoy the fact that the current owner met his American wife at the foot of the Wrekin. We enjoyed a brisk walk to the lake. And thank you to the elderly man who had the tea urn out on the summer terrace for a welcome cuppa on our return. Don't expect National Trust. just a homely feel.

Wonderful experience
Jul 2018 • Friends
Never having visited previously very pleasantly surprised. Made very welcome by staff who, after coffee to welcome group, gave interesting tour of House. This was followed by Tractor tour to the lake/pool. We were blessed with good weather to make difference in glorious setting of surrounding Woodland retaining a very natural setting. A very tasty Ploughman's lunch was enjoyed in the Great Hall, added to by delicious homemade items made by lady of house Mrs Gifford. Felt, a balance has been found for, although generations of history, obviously still a comfortable family home.

Half marathon
May 2018 • Couples
Our first visit to Chillington Hall for the Half Marathon.
The roads leading to the site are not the best, many potholes and uneven in places.
The grounds are extensive with plenty of space to move around or to sit with a picnic.
The race itself was well organised and friendly. Would like to return to visit the hall.

Some choices need to be avoided
Feb 2017
There was a reasonable choice of food. Neither myself or my husband were terribly happy the first night. The starter (a trout dish) was delicious, but the two mains not so. My curry was very hot, maybe a wrong choice on my part, but my husband had the pork and found it very dry an would have liked more vegetables with it.

The second night we chose other things. My husband had meatballs and I had stroganoff and both of these were fine.

The staff were attentive without being in your face.

Beautiful Wedding
Nov 2016
We have attended a wedding here of our close friends and it was absolutely fantastic, from start to finish. The Hall is stunning, the rooms are beautiful. The surroundings are perfect for a wedding. The service and food were also exceptional.
Our friends had a marque outside which was stunning, the bar staff were very friendly. Even going and getting a drink they didn't have for my husband.
