Stopped here for lunch. Had some sandwiches which were tasty but there was very little choice. Staff were very pleasant.

Stumbled upon ancient treasures.
Aug 2017 • Couples
When visiting our daughter and son-in-law we all went for a walk in some glorious countryside and finally arrived unexpectedly at the Five Bells. What a pleasant surprise it was. This picturesque ancient country pub was a real treasure. We all decided that we would just have a snack lunch. We chose baguettes with various fillings. When they arrived we were surprised that each came with a portion of chips. I chose the prawn filling and it was fresh and delicious.
After the meal, we went to see the tithe barn nearby. This amazing 15th-century building is well worth a visit. Check for open times with English Heritage first.

Gem of pub with hiking trail
Jul 2017 • Couples
My husband and I stayed in an average airport hotel after landing from the US. This amazing 400 year old pub was walking distance from our hotel. Beautiful hiking trail around a lake with swans started right outside the front door. Friendly staff with resident dog, Molly made us feel very welcome and right at home.
Surprisingly great food! Vegan option of veggie chili was fantastic! Beer was off the charts.

Lovely pub lunch
May 2017 • Couples
Glorious little old English country pub, set in a typical country village. We sat in the garden on a lovely summers day and enjoyed watching the planes coming in and out of the (very) nearby Heathrow airport. If you're bothered by the planes it clearly won't be the place for you but we found it entertaining. The food was good value, lovely and the staff friendly, and seemed genuinely pleased to see us.

Lovely pub lunch
Apr 2017 • Family
Visited with friends on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we were rewarded with a really lovely lunch which was throughly enjoyed by all. The play area was brilliant for the kids and kept them occupied while we waited, in fact they didn't want to leave. Will definitely visit again

Nice friendly Pub
Mar 2017 • Family
Situated in a pretty little village about half a mile form Heathrow airport. The food selection is fairly standard pub grub but nonetheless very tasty. Landlord and staff were very welcoming.
Would be ideal for a family meal out with a beer garden at the rear.

Great Pub, recently refurbished
Jan 2017 • Couples
This pub used to be The Five Bells but has undergone a makeover and re-opened as The Horton Arms. The refurbishment has been completed really professionally and the pub is now cozy and inviting. Staff are really friendly, they have a varied menu, something for everyone but the pizzas are really amazing !!! Be sure to check this place out.

Dropped in today avoiding the traffic. Great pub. Love the open fires, very warm and inviting. Had the best pizza I've ever tasted. Bringing my wife back next Thursday for 'The Best of Buble'.
Staff are friendly and efficient, great value for money too.
I'll be back!

Re-opened as the Horton Arms.
Nov 2016 • Couples
After several weeks of being "refurbished" the Five Bells in Horton finally reopened it doors under a new name The Horton Arms. With great expectation and a promise of free slice of pizza and a drink I popped in to to see the result. Hardly anything had changed from the rundown pub before. A lick of paint to conceal the drab worn out paintwork and instead of spirits bottles hardly anything else had altered from the old pub. The most outstanding change I encountered was the massive hike in the prices, £10+ for a glass of wine and a pint of beer. As for the free drink of Prosecco it was reluctantly served and only give if you asked for it. The free slice of pizza was even harder to find, none was offered when enquired about it nor could I find any. Eventually I did manage to sample a slice of pizza "donated" by a customer who purchased a whole one. But to say I had tasted better, would be an understatement, more to the truth would be, I have never tasted a pizza as bad. Very disappointed, unfortunately the old Five Bells pub was not very good as a pub even with several changes of landlords but the Horton Arms is possibly the now classified the worst regardless of the rename. The Horton Arms will have to change its chef and prices or be refurbished again before I bother to return.

Yes it was busy on its opening night but will it be busy again. Apart from those attracted by a change name and inflated prices to a low class wine bar masquerading as an Italian restaurant, I doubt it.

UPDATE
Nov 2016 • Solo
I popped in yesterday to check it out and it's undergoing refurbishment. I was assured it would be up and running by the end of next week (11/10/2016) with beer and food. I will try again in a couple of weeks.
