Less extensive than the other abbeys/priories round here, but it is free! No dedicated parking or tearoom, but its right in the town so no worries. Some gardens and a woodland walk. Used by locals as a public park.
The remains of the priory are the centre piece of a lovely park these days. A few years ago it was run by the Council, and was rather a mess, but English Heritage control it now, it's free and really peaceful.
We drove to Guisborough, parked (paid), walked to it and what did we find when we got there? It was shut.

Excellent place to visit when in Guisborough. Well maintained by volunteers for English Heritage. Easy access from front of Church. Disc parking available in town centre. Monks walk in the trees is unique

Stopped on a journey. Good place to stretch legs. Various short term free parking spaces further down the hill so didn't have to pay to park. Particularly loved the care volunteers have made to keep the gardens going. Woodland walk and physic garden particularly interesting....More

Yes, and in 2017 it's open Bank Holiday Mondays too. It's free. More details on the Gisborough Priory Project website. And yes, that's correct, when you talk about the Priory, there's no "u" in Gisborough!
