The castle which opens many doors: to Austrian history and the zenith of imperial high culture; to the Donau-Auen National Park and untouched wilderness; to unforgettable events and rejuvenating relaxation. Here, there are no boundaries between beavers and the Baroque, pristine nature and majestic ballrooms. All of this is so very near to the metropolitan areas of Vienna and Bratislava, and in close harmony between nature and civilization. SCHLOSS ECKARTSAU TOUR "Emperor without a Crown - The Chronicle of a Farewell" 1 April - 31 October | Daily at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. Advance booking is possible for groups of six or more. The Danube monarchy at its lowest point. After leaving Vienna in November 1918, the imperial family settles in at Schloss Eckartsau. Here they await their fate with both hope and trepidation. Hear the story of the last hours of Austro-Hungary at the very site where these momentous events took place. INFORMATION & SHOP | SCHLOSS CAFE 1 April to 31 October | Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Coffee and cake are served daily in the idyllic inner courtyard of our Schloss Cafe. The pleasing ambience beckons: enjoy a relaxing start to the day, a refreshing midday break, or the pleasant culmination of a long day of sightseeing or walking!
