Getting there is the almost an adrenilne rush in itself. From Salobrena/Almunicar its around an hour drive, with 50% being long windy mountain roads, but very well kept. But the real fun starts once you meet the tour guide. A group of other families were asked to follow the tour guide in his van, in your own car. Single lane 'real' mountain roads, for perhaps 2-3km down a bumpy, windy, dusty and single lane road...not for the feint hearted especially when sometimes other cars are coming up. When you get to the bottom, you'll be guided to a parking space. Wet suits and helmets are issued out and in the local heat a tough gig to get on (a diet may have helped) The guide took us down to the river which is part walk and part swim, you dont need to be an expert swimming just confident. As we paid for the family ticket around £25 a head, we were taken on the easy levels. What appeared to be 30-45 mins of small climbs (aided by the guide) up a few small waterfalls and rocks. Then a turn around and we came down teh same path way, with around 6 jumps, optional but definety worth while doing. Some jumps were 2m high, the highest being 8m high. In the party were kids aged 5 ish through to adults around 50, from Spain, England and Germany and everyone jumped all jumps. The guide sadly never spoke English and a customer helped translate, but hand signals and common sense took over for the most. Great day had out, a little unnerving but with great highs. Would recommend even for those who may think you're not fit enough (my partner had a knee op last year and done it without any problems). Kids, particularly the pre teens and teens, will love this :)
