Woodcrafts, textiles, pottery, stationary, jewelry, glassworks, etc. you get the idea. Really great stuff. I was particularly impressed with the woodcrafts. Spent way too much money here. Would go back. Don’t be expecting deals - this is nice stuff (in my book). Thoroughly enjoyed it!

It's a collection of japanese "artisan" stores from around the country - pottery, fabrics, clothes, shoes, "stuff from nagano", whatever. It's mostly (or all!) really quite good, and is, in typical Japanese style, an excellent use of the space under the train lines up near...More

Really great urban renewal space with fantastic handmade craft and artist work. Wish I had more time and had bought more.

Great place to find unique gifts and souvenirs, made by Japanese artists and crafts professionals. It is hidden away, below the railway tracks! Great to spend a few hours here, as all the shop keepers are eager to explain and share their passion with you....More

This place is great if you want really authentic, unique souvenirs from local artisans rather than the stuff in tourist shops. The value seemed really excellent as well, depending on what you're looking for. There was a couple of really excellent coffee shops too. Would...More

This design "tunnel" below the Yamanote line is a very nice place to stroll around. There are lots of different shops, some cafés and coffee stands. A really calm place to enjoy the silence in the middle of Tokyo.

A smallish collection of shops/workspaces for artists to sell their wares. I found the Tenegui shop to be of excellent quality and spent a fair amount of money here. Better quality Tenegui for the same price as you would pay in a department store (1500...More

Took a little while to find it; went away disappointed. Perhaps small artisan shops were rare in Tokyo; there were some interesting shops but really nothing truly special.
