Based in Asakusa, we specialise in narrow and deep guided tours of Tokyo’s charming and historical Shitamachi area, where every sight is a story. Fill your time in Tokyo with memorable experiences and a rich understanding of your surroundings that you can share with others — something more than mere snapshots. Shitamachi is the Tokyo that Tokyoites know — the authentic ‘old Tokyo’ of winding streets, cosy restaurants, arts and crafts, as well as traditional entertainment like kabuki, and must-see landmarks like Sensoji temple and the giant red lantern of its ‘Thunder Gate’. We offer both scheduled tours, open to all, and private, custom-made guided tours for individuals or groups. Our scheduled tours have a maximum group size of five people, so you can really get to know your helpful guide. Our services cover the east side of central Tokyo, including Taito, Sumida, Chuo, Chiyoda, Bunkyo and Adachi wards, but we can provide more expansive tours in cooperation with other providers.

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
