Japanese Traditional Music Experience at a Shinto Shrine in Tokyo with TEAM KOZAN. All foreign visitors, study abroad students, and tourists welcome! Learn to play “Koto” (Japanese harp) and “Shakuhachi” (Japanese bamboo flute). Our instructors are graduates of the Tokyo University of the Arts(national university of Japan) and hold Music Master’s Degrees. The lessons are taught in English and participants can learn both the Koto and Shakuhachi. At the end of the experience all the participants will gather to perform a traditional piece together. We also offer a professional performance so you can enjoy traditional arts first hand at Suga Shinto Shrine. Our music experiences take place inside the Kaguraden on the Suga Shrine grounds. As part of this experience we will teach you proper etiquette for visiting Japanese shrines. If you’d like we can take pictures and video using simple equipment. We provide a yukata service but only during the summer and quantity is limited. Reservation required/ Reservations can be made by e-mail or telephone. Please make reservations by noon 2 days prior.

Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around
the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in
Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a
photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old
Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this
day, and there are long-standing restaurants with
geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
