It's funny just how much of a bars enjoyment can come from how the owner treats their patrons. JBS has the perfect setup; great decor, intimate feel and the music is divine. But the owner/bartender will treat you like you walked in and gave him...More

I read the warnings below about the owner before we came, but was hoping they were exaggerations. Sadly, they are dead on. The owner was scowling at us from the moment we walked in. While ordering drinks we complimented him on his amazing vinyl collection,...More

The place it is nice, the music it is great, but don't count in find a nice bartender/owner, he was terrible, really rude. If you decided to go and listening for good music, just don't even look at him..ask you drink and enjoy..

A fantastic place for chilled drinks and AMAZING music. The owner doesn’t want any loud, touristy nonsense. Order a drink, sit down and shut up - because that’s what this place is all about. We thought the owner was rude, but he just doesn’t tolerate...More

I don’t ever post negative reviews on TripAdvisor - almost never have I had an outright bad experience based on going to highly rated places. But after being treated like an annoying child by the bartender (owner?), I felt like this place deserves a bad...More

It's a great place for music lovers. Moreso for vinyl lovers. The owner means business. He doesn't entertain loud tourists but just people who want to enjoy the music he curates. Great cocktails and very reasonable prices too.

This man's collection and taste are unparalleled. We were worried he might be dismissive of us as we were tourists but we were respectful and followed others' example and Mr. Kobayashi ended up being quite a pleasant man. He did turn down a few other...More

To be fair we were warned. By our local friend. "JBs is the most famous vinyl bar in Japan but it's really touristy and the owner doesn't care. He opens when he wants and does what he wants" So we tried. First night. A Saturday...More

Cannot recommend at all. We entered and stood at the only available location at the bar. We gestured to the barman (who appeared to be the owner) a couple of times when he had finished serving others and he looked over but spectacularly ignored us....More

Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
