The Train system is a masterpiece with stops just about any destination you could imagine. It is very easy to pull up maps on the free wifi in the stations that will show your exact route and details so you can navigate yourself.

Waited 30 minutes in the queue and still waiting. Twice I had to get my JR pass here and both times were incredibly slow. Despite the long queue they do nothing to speed up the process and this delays everyone's travel plans. Really needs improvement.

The JR East pass covers all rail travel including the Shinkansen (bullet trains). Tickets for the Shinkansen need to be booked (allocated seating) but this can be done up to ten minutes before the departure time. The customer service at the airport was excellent (I...More
