Roppongi has matured in recent years and is a top shopping magnet, much like Banhoffstrasse and Rodeo Drive. Window shopping is an experience unto itself.

This area was a party haven. It was more "Americanized" and features many bars and restaurants. There are lots of pushy, aggressive Africans there trying to sell you something or funnel you into specific establishments. This is not the place for kids.

Heard some interesting stories before we arrived about Roppongi . But we have loved it !!! Some of the back streets have some interesting clubs to say the least but also offer fantastic traditional food options and they are fun and cheap and tasty !!!...More

Roppongi is one of the nightlife areas for foreigners. They are numerous food and beverage outlets in the area as well as some high end brand outlets. One can get a great view of Tokyo from the Sky Deck in Roppongi Hills.

Roppongi Hills is an upmarket area that was about as far from traditional Japan as you can imagine. Nice area to stroll and window shop.

Sad night life with tens of hookers and others people trying to make you enter their club: not aggressive but too much pushy. Unpleasant!

I had heard a lot about this place that is why I went to see it. Not impressed though. Just a lot of restaurants and bars. May be good for drinkers. If you are peace loving, do not recommend to go there. Nothing special

An adults Wonderland with expensive clubs for ingenious foreigners. Some good places to eat. Take a look in the small side roads for better trendy places

As we live close to Roppongi, we often go there to eat and drink. Many restaurants and bars. In the night, you probably will see lots of drunk people but no danger.

Of all the famous Tokyo areas that we visited (including Nishi Kasai, Ginza, Uneno, Shijuku and Shibuya), we found Roppongi very different and very homely. This town not only hosts several multinational corporates from several continents but is also a host to several multi cuisine...More

Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were
famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants,
bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of
Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the
area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot
to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art
Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art
galleries.

Stayed at the Mitsui Garden which was quiet but it's not in Rappongi and you would need to walk to Daimon to get a one stop metro into Rappongi. Decent hotel though. Really easy to get around though. The monorail will get... More

I would start off some place safe like the Hard Rock Cafe and ask the local foreigners there where they hang out. You're asking for trouble if you pick up the club cards from the card pimps on the street.
