I had expected much more from reading reviews about this area. Certainly shopping here is a must, but I found the area less than impressive after dark. Maybe Wednesday night isn't the best night out, but Shinjuku and Shibuya had much more happening every night...More

Its the main nightlife area of tokyo. Just ignore all the street pushers tryisng to get you into a bar. Join the pub crawl or know your destination if you heading to the club. Been here a few times, always felt safe to me

used to be busier (and safer), now can get a little nasty at night with all the touts and "massagi" ladies in the day has good coffee options and even shopping at midtown and barney's

great for a wild night out. just be careful of any guys trying to pull you into strip clubs, they arent really strip clubs, also good bars, good area, gets busier after midnight

Visit Roppongi when the sun has already set. Busy neighbourhood but just a year ago there were a lot more people around. If you are just visiting Tokyo for the first time it is compulsory, otherwise you can skip...

Got here last day of extensive 10 days trip, maybe, we are a bit tired? Don't see anything that impress us, yeh, it has more international restaurants. that's all?

don't recommend you go in alone if your a girl. go with friends or friends some kind of event group. I found some groups on Tokyo Parties and Event Listings and check out a couple of events. I had a great time with them

Visited Roppongi Hills Malls and Tokyo Mid-town. Each is situated on opposite sides of the main freeway and so this has to be traversed via the underpass. Both were lovely high-end facilities and great for a couple of hours browsing and gift shopping. Highly recommended!

A walk down the crowded Takeshita Street on a Sunday afternoon is not to be missed. The shops are definitely youth oriented but the enthusiasm of the crowd is an experience on its own.

Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were
famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants,
bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of
Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the
area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot
to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art
Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art
galleries.

Stayed at the Mitsui Garden which was quiet but it's not in Rappongi and you would need to walk to Daimon to get a one stop metro into Rappongi. Decent hotel though. Really easy to get around though. The monorail will get... More

I would start off some place safe like the Hard Rock Cafe and ask the local foreigners there where they hang out. You're asking for trouble if you pick up the club cards from the card pimps on the street.
