We chose the learning exhibition as opposed to the other two at the time of our visit. Very thought provoking and encouraged you to ask questions and be curious rather than passively view an exhibition. Beautiful photos with some meaning behind them. Worth a visit...More

I recommend visiting this museum. Beautiful historic photos outweigh the attraction of more recent photography shown here. A bonus - the Yebisu brewery museum is really close, so you can enjoy some great beer after this museum!

The Tokyo photography museum is located in ebisu in the ebisu beer complex. It is not a nice museum with 3 floors of exhibitions. They have an extensive collecting of well known Japanese and foreign photographers work. Worth a visit if you like photography. You...More

3 floors of different exhibitions, well curated with a nice variety. Cheap entry (especially for students) - well worth a visit!

There were three exhibitions when I visited and I chose to go to two of these. One was drawn from the museum's own collection and showed works from the Heisei period which is about the last 25 years. There were some quite well-known Japanese photographers...More

The exhibits were kinda OK. I wished for more. There are so many superb Japanese photographers, and somehow the 2 floors are not doing justice. I was disappointed.

We really dug seeing the work of local photographers and their view on modern Japan. The shop is surprisingly good as well.

False advertising in the sense that there are no known photographers (Capa, Doisneau) displayed. Three stories of galleries of contemporary photography. Can be seen in less than an hour.

Visiting at the same time as typhoon Lan, we had a couple of very rainy days. One of those we spent at here, and it was a wonderful experience. Admission varies depending on the exhibitions, but some parts seem to be free.

Took advantage of this hotel being across the street from our hotel, Westin Tokyo. If you enjoy photography make sure you take in one of two of the current exhibits at this modern museum

Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
