A beautiful Japanese Edo period park with ponds / lakes, bridges, fish, ducks, and lots of walkways and seats for quiet contemplation. Great for a relaxing stroll or gathering your thoughts.

Even though it isn't as old and historically filled as the Hamarikiyu garden, the Kiyosumi Teien offers some really nice views full of pine trees, Izu rocks, tea house and animals. It is definitely worth the train ride and will give you a good opportunity...More

This garden is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and tranquil. Strolling around, absorbing the sculpted landscapes, makes you feel light and relax. A perfect place to escape for 1-2 hours.

What a beautiful garden. If you just need to go and relax somewhere and soak up manicured nature for an hour or two this place is wonderful. Of all the gardens, palaces and castles we’ve visited this one tops them to date!

It is a rather small, but very nicely designed and maintained Japanese garden. I visited it twice - in late autumn and peak summer. Although there were no special flowers or colored leaves during neither of my visit, it is my favorite garden in Tokyo....More

It’s a quick metro ride from popular tourist districts like Shinjuku and Ginza. We spent a slow late afternoon here and it was wonderful. It’s such a tidy and peaceful environment that purifies your mind.

There is something about Kiyosumi Teien, and I can't completely grasp why it's my favorite garden in all of Japan. The country has hundreds of these green spaces, a society that truly prioritizes solitude, calm, and well-manicured parks in the midst of epic urbanity. And...More
