Went to he shops around the fish market as the actual auction area doesn’t open until 11, and we were told by then it’s pretty much over. This was our first stop of the day so had just eaten breakfast and didn’t want to wait...More

I think this is the first fish market I have been to where tourists are not allowed in the inner part of the market until mid morning. After the wholesalers are finished, then tourists can come in to that part. The outer perimeter of the...More

Tsukiji Market is split into two "sections." The part where most people tend to congregate is the outer market where the shops and restaurants are. The food is really the main reason to visit the market, as this is where you can get one of...More

Packed with tourists and locals alike. Amazing array of stalls of fishes, seafood, vegetables and many more. Still seafood and street food are the highlights. Come with an empty stomach!

An absolute must-see when you're in Tokyo- this fish market is very well known, so expect large crowds here. We went first thing in the morning and walked around to the many, different vendors. Picked up some seafood for breakfast as well as the sweet...More

This is just another fish market. It is very large and bustling. Lots of food vendors with reasonable prices around the outer edges. Must be Japanese to enter inside. If you can get in go early because the fish sell really fast.. Really enjoyed the...More

If you're not Japanese they don't allow you in the actual inner market until 1030 am. Enjoy the outer and eat sushi then head in to see how it all goes down.

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular

The best thing to do is get there around 10 am I don't think the actual auction is open to the public. It's just as much fun at 10am.
