This is one of many small memorials , many hard to find in the historic Ginza area of Tokyo. This one is quite small in a busy street but worth looking at and studying the history.

It is a memorial to the first electric light that was lit in the area in 1887, one of many small memorials you will find hidden around the Ginza area. When you look at the lights of Ginza now they must have know something.
