The church is delightful and historic, with murals covering the ceiling and otherwise very decorative. It is a haven of peaceful contemplation in the middle of the busy city.

We stopped at this church during a day trip. It is absolutely beautiful. We spent time in the museum upstairs, which we both enjoyed. Definitely worth a visit.

The center place of worship of boholanos in tagbilaran city. One of the oldest church in the city and most of the time the crowded one tho.

Quick stop on the way past to take a photo and have a browse. Beautifully decorated with amazing ceilings. There were lots of beggars hanging around outside which was a shame.

We were there when they had a procession to bring in a statue in a motorized exhaust spewing vehicle. The grounds were full of people eating with a full brass band playing to the Baby Jesus. It was not boring..

I go to mass everyday in MY Cathedral of San Jose...sans the language difficulty of not knowing Boholano-Bisaya. It has been renovated from the 2013 earthquake, and the ceiling and reredo paintings show the Catholic fervor of the Boholanos. Lent, Fiesta, Christmas celebrations are the best times to see the all out preparations of the Church. But if you just want to hear ethereal choir singing of nuns, drop by every 715 a.m. English mass...

The Cathedral of St Joseph the Worker has always been one of the beautiful churches in the country. The renovations done on the church are outstanding. The gold motiff on the altar is just right; it doesn’t make it look dark and eerie. There is a brightness, instead, that draws you to focus on the altar and appreciate the paintings and sacred scriptures on the ceiling. The carved doors are very beautiful as well. Though located in the city, there is still much quiet and tranquility that allows church visitors to pray, or simply sit on a quiet corner and reflect.

The tour started with a visit to an ancient adjacent building, which was once a college. It has some interesting artefacts. The cathedral is very impressive and beautifully maintained and restored.
