This is well off the beaten track. but well worth a visit for lots of reasons. It is quaint and a very English building, and just steeped in history. Easy to go in and look round inside, with Breamore House right next door.

Next to Breamore House is this sweet little Saxon church full of interest inside and out. Like opening a history book. Some original features including wall paintings. A real treasure. The surrounding graveyard leads to a footpath across the rolling hills. Gorgeous views.

Lovely old church next to Breamore House. Could spend an afternoon here meditating, and soak in the atmosphere from years gone past.

Lovely old church, with many surviving pieces, including wall paintings, a Rood, and an Anglo-Saxon inscription. Macabre wall painting of Judas hanging himself. Lots of hatchments inside as well. Scary ladder to the bell chamber!

Beautifully presented angle-saxon church - lots of good information available to make the most of the visit. Lovely to find the church open and decorated wonderfully for easter. And swallows already resident in the porch - above a stunning Anglo Saxon rood.

Having taken a trip to see Breamore house (which was closed) we shortly after stumbled upon St Mary's Church so our trip was not totally wasted as Breamore village also boasts an exceptional example of an Anglo Saxon church including Anglo Saxon inscription rather than...More

Just a great example of a church of that era. An unexpected and joyous find during a walk in the area. it was beautifully maintained and clearly loved and appreciated.
