On arrival we were a little apprehensive as to what we would find here. The clubhouse is drab and practice greens were patchy. However the tree lined course is very spaciously laid out with sculpted rolling edges to the fairways. Water featured on the much hillier back nine. Many of the greens were a bit patchy, as on the practice putting area. However, the clubhouse meal of hot goat’s cheese salad was quite unexpectedly good.

Nice layout through woodland with some goid looking and challenging holes but greens need work. Disappoining lunch after round of golf.

This was an impulse stop. I had been looking to play a round and earlier attempts to get a game elsewhere had been thwarted so this was a course I came upon literally as I drove by, but what a find. The initial impression is that this will be a fairly flat course but this is a gross deception. The other deception is the distance markers. They are much further back away from the target than the 135m they display. The course has a mix of holes that allow for the expansive shot and a number of very tight holes. Quite a few also have significant water hazards and the 15th is almost an island green. It is very well maintained and the green are true. Definitely one for a buggy or a powered trolley. A great test.
