First and foremost, this is not a Zoo. The Alternative Wolf and Bear Park is a cross between a rescue centre and an "old animals home". All the animals in the Park have been in some way mistreated/abused or kept in inappropriate housing before coming...More

Lovely morning spent here at the wolf, bear and lynx park. Just €20 for a family and a fab couple of hours walking an easy, although, fairly steep path around the park. So many chances to see the animals and really up close. Informative leaflet...More

We were wondering if the shelter was big enough for the animals living there, but we were also sure they were very well kept... after a life of imprisoning this is surely heavenly. The wolfs were anxious, but we think that this had something to...More

I have been there quite a few times for different occasions and it is always rewarding to see how badly treated animals which were rescued from miserable circumstances start to re-invent their own being. The dedication of the staff is remarkable and they work extremely...More

Not being a great fan of animals in confinement this park does justice to its ‘back to the’ wild guests, all animals there have been rescued to live out their lives in a more natural manner. The walk (in our case slippery with snow and...More

Excellent trip with family or friends. There are high fences but the parc is clearly arranged in the middle of the natural area. I guess we have been lucky since saw as well several bears as 4 wolves and the 2 (sleeping) bobcats.

This is worth it if you're doing the scenic tour through the Black Forest. It's over an hour from the closest autobahn, and not worth driving way out of the way for. Be aware of timing--stopping here meant my boyfriend and I missed our shot...More

My entire family loved visiting the wolves and bears at this sanctuary. They had close up views of all the animals, and there was a nice playground for the kids. Bathrooms were free, the cappuccinogood, the facility was clean and best of all, it is...More

We've been there because it was an excellent weather. The Park is great because they saved those animals from Circus and other private owners. It's worth to go there and help those people continue their hard work by protecting the animals and nature. Fully recommended.

Great Park! Bears seemed happy and comfortable. They played the entire time I was there. Management seems to take great care of the animals and the property / facilities. Lots of families there.

There are regional buses in this area that can take you to the park or the vicinity of the park. It is a fairly unpopulated area however so I would think that the buses don't run with great frequency. Look at this website to... More
