This is the biggest zoo we visited in Tokyo region. Zoo is accessible by Keio line from Shinjuku. It does take some time to reach from Tokyo but worth it. Also there is no car parking. Zoo has good green cover and since we visited...More

I visited here last weekend. My 3-year-old daughter had a great time :) There are a lot of fun for kids for example elephant, koala, giraffe, kangaroo and so on! If I make special requests, restore the lion bus and showcase a panda.

A short monorail ride from Tachikawa and you are at the Tama Zoo. If you go with students or seniors there is a discount entrance price so be sure to get those. We went on Saturday and it wasn't crowded and we were able to...More

Tama Zoo has over 300 species of animals. Truly an enjoyable zoo to go to because the animals look very well cared for. We went in spring and it was amazing how many baby animals we saw (a sign that the animals are happy). Most...More

We visited here and had a lovely day. All of the animals are pretty close and active and don't seem too depressed to be in a zoo. The park itself is nice and hilly and laid out in a beautiful area. The butterfly house, which...More

There was a lot of walking BUT it was worth! The best part was the lion bus! You pay a few hundred yen to ride a bus into a lion closure. There are little hooks on the bus that they put meat onto. It was...More

Very bid and children friendly. Nice to stroll through although make sure you have enough time because it is quite big. The Insect house was my personal favorite.

You can definitely enjoy your 2 hours instead of targeting to see everything. Definitely worth it for kids.
