Such a beautiful Shrine surrounded by tranquil gardens. As ever a lovely quiet spot in the middle of a busy location, the grounds are well maintained, some gorgeous water features and other structures easily accessed from the Fuchu Station. Not to be missed and so easy to get to from Tokyo. We even saw some trees still in blossom.

This shrine established at the same time when "MUSASHI" local nation established in the area in the middle of 7th century. Anyone visiting here can feel real shinto culture which is the root of Japanese people.

A very beautiful Shinto temple set in the town's park. Impressive, towering stone gates on various corners of the park. Very tranquil and inviting. Very close to the train station if you come from Tokyo proper.

It is not usual famous shrine, like Asakusa. So If you will go there, you will not see any Gaijin.I mean you can touch Jpanese local mind! They must be super shy,but safe and kind!
This is very very old shrine. Before Tokyo, you know Edo,and before Edo there area called Musashi-country. This shrine is for Musashi-country.You can get there by Keio-line Fuchu station, from Shinjuku station about 20 minutes, and you can walk there from Fuchu station by 5minutes.You can see Japanese beautiful old avenue like forest, also. It's enough to see around there for 1hours.If you have any time,it is good for you to walk around. You can find another Japan!

A bit out of the way in Fuchu, Okunitama Shrine is a nice distraction when visiting the area. It has a beautiful main shrine building and you can buy blessings at a small shrine shop. We always get blessings for auto safety.

There is a classic Noh stage, a sumo ring, and a display of portable shrines (omikoshi) that can be seen for a small fee.

There is a large parking lot, so easy to visit by car.

I love Okunitama Shrine for its peaceful elegance and the opportunity to get a few moments of reflection and get away for the busy city.
