【SAMURAI experience】 In this event, you can experience the dance that the samurais would do before they fight a battle. You can feel the samurai spirit through experiencing the dance. 【CONTENTS】 1、SAMURAI DANCE SHOW (approx. 30mins) Enjoy a lively and intriguing samurai dance performance by Samurai dancer, Ryuou Arai, the current third headmaster of traditional Japanese art school. Explanation of the samurai dance will be provided as well. Audience will be able to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of this traditional Japanese entertainment. I invite you to the spectacular samurai dance performance which incorporates Japanese sword (katana) and Kimono which were used and worn by the samurais in ancient times right now! 2、SAMURAI TRADITIONAL KIMONO (15mins) Participants will wear a Kimono. Firstly, you can choose your favorite Kimono from a large selection of Kimono that we have. Then you will learn how to tie the obi (The belt that supports your Kimono around your waist) and wear a kimono with the aid of our staff. After you put on your kimono, you can take photos with a beautiful handcrafted Japanese fan and/or a Japanese sword. 3、SAMURAI DANCE EXPERIENCE (approx. 45mins) After you dress up , learn some simple dance movements from our Samurai dancer. You will learn the basics of handling a Japanese sword (i.e Unsheathing the sword and basic slash moves). You will also learn some advanced sword stance and walking style in the olden days of Japan. Complete your session with some challenging Samurai dance movements. you will experience the dance that the samurais would do before they fought a battle. You will feel the samurai spirits through the dance. We were 3 adults and a 7 year old and we all loved it and it definitely was one of the highlights of our trip. An authentic Japanese cultural experience with costuming and all. Fun for the whole family :)

3rd generation dance master Ryou's dance is breathtaking up close, and was amazing to try it out under his guidance. Perfect for anyone interested in samurai, Japanese history, or just looking to try out an authentic Japanese cultural experience.

Of course you can just watch the Samurai Dance Kenbu in theather kabukiza to be able to say that you have seen/done it, OR INSTEAD you can turn yourself into Samurai and perform the traditional Dance by yourself. Experiencing it by yourself will allow to...More
