Picturesque village (listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France), free parking, great crêperie opposite the church, chocolate shop.

It's popular because it is so beautiful. It's worth to go and look for the lesser visited corners, not just the main square.

A real tourist trap.€4 to park. Little or no welcome in the tat shops that are everywhere in the village. The worst bar we have been to in France Ty Jos . Leaves you with a sour taste in the mouth knowing that there are far nicer, more authentic and welcoming places in Finistere.

We visited Locronan expecting a quaint historic village with lots of hustle and bustle but what we got was was a sterile French version of Disneyland. Architecturally quite attractive but honed to perfection and full of “artisan” outlets otherwise known as tourist shops. Lots of bewildered looking tourists wandering about wondering what all the fuss was about and half expecting Mickey and Minnie Mouse to pop out from behind the manicured front door of a perfectly assembled three hundred year old house, which mercifully didn’t happen. It’s clear that a lot of effort has been made to turn Locronan into a tourist hotspot but I’m afraid that in doing so it has become completely devoid of any atmosphere associated with village life. Our group of four left with the feeling that we had arrived 100 years too late and we won’t be coming back.

A lovely village. Visited several times over several weeks. For less tourists, try late afternoon / early evening, when many tourists have left, and try the wonderful Comptoir de Voyageurs resto on the main square for dinner afterwards. Most shops are also a bit upmarket: Try the delicious Larnicol Chocs, also on the main square. Village charges for parking in peak season.
