We decided to walk from Silverdale village to Arnside village and, after consulting Google Maps, started along the road.
However, after a short distance we joined a footpath to go over the Knott. We are so glad we did!

Well worth a visit. We drove to Arnside and you can walk to the top of the Knott ( hill)

The climb up to Arnside knot due to the current warm weather was reminiscent of walking through an olive grove. Climbing up from the back road was sheltered whereas coming up from the village in the heat looked quite a challenge.

Arnside is very nice. There is a sea front, beach (beware of fast tides and quicksand) and parking in the village and other roads.A few shops and cafe's and a couple of pubs. Very well looked after. We will definitely come back.
