The little Town of Wissant is between both big cliffs of the Opal coast : Cap Griz nez and Cap blanc nez (grey and white noses, for the couloir of the stone). The beach side is natural and little constructed so you can enjoy the...More

We were driving back up to Calais and stopped at this beach for a few hours and I would definitely return! It was clean with lovely fine sand. As we arrived the tide was coming in which it does very quickly but is still very...More

even dogs on leads are banned from being anywhere insight of the coast. Wide promenade strictly of limits in a nasty absurd attack on people simply wanting to have a stroll with their dog. disgusted with the people of Wissant

Fancy visiting the cliffs of Dover, but on the wrong side of the water? On the French side, the same geological chalk cliffs are present. Wissant is a wonderful little village with a seaside promenade, and, to the north and south of the village, an...More

Just like all of the beaches along this coast, Wissant is no exception. It is wonderful. This is a must for anyone visiting the area.

It is a nice large sandy beach which in winter is deserted. Annoyingly no dogs allowed even on the concrete promenade even on a lead. Nice walks through the dunes on GR120.

Not too far from Calais or Coquelles, so worth a visit if you have time. Very quiet on our visit in November. No cafes open (or toilets). Fun to watch the surfers and kite fliers. It wasn't a very clear day but we could see...More

This beach was a real surprise, lovely clean off white sand, free parking, a couple of bars, no sun beds, toilets. If this was in the UK you wouldn't get near it and if you could you would be charged a small fortune to park.

I recall a launching ramp for boats which would probably be suitable for wheelchairs.

Not sure - our kids were just paddling and I think it is fairly shallow quite a way out.

Parking on the beach is very restricted (small). Most people head to the camp ground on Rue de la source.
