Alona is still a beautiful beach--a paradise for divers, but things get out of hands. Some days you can see a hundred bankas (boats) on the beach. Not only does it look like a giant boat parking lot, but it makes swimming dangerous. Watch for...More

It's a dog show! As with every other place in the world that has been taken over by resorts Alona beach is soulless. The commercialism is as thick as the smoke from plastic garbage fires every day after 5pm. Yes it's touristy: it's full of...More

This beach was really awesome and I did swim a lot as well however, I have to urge Filipino government to keep the beach clean because I could see plastics and bottle floating around. Not only it makes you feel bad but its bad for...More

A lot of reviews of Philippine beaches mention more famous names, but Alona Beach still comes up often in searches for the best beach in the Central Visayas region. Bohol is one island north of Mindanao island where there has unfortunately been a lot of...More

Alona is a really touristic place with nothing special to do. If you are going to stay there don't spend more than 3 days. The only good things to do are scuba diving in Balicasag island (really beautiful) and snorkeling in pamilacan island

Was only in Bohol for 2 days and stayed in a hotel on Alona Beach. It's a really nice place to relax and beautiful clean waters. It's like Phuket without the glitz. Love it!

Fair beach, noisy club, expensive food in alone beach. But you can find the shops for everything easily. So the good thing to live near the beach only is convenient to access tourist shops. But if you're looking for a relaxing quiet beach, you could...More

Had conflicting advise about Alona beach - some said was awesome, some said it was too touristy. We were only here for a few days and other than a couple of drunken europeans chatting up the locals, it was pretty family friendly. There's lots of...More

It is a nice white sand beach, not very big though. It's a most happening beach on Panglao. There are many bars and restaurants. Bars on the beach and around open till very late. Best area to party in Panglao.
