Fabulous environment and food. A little place in the middle of an historical ancient forest. And, don’t forget to visit Elizabeth lodge!

The old hunting lodge in chingford on the edge of the Epping Forest is worth a quick stop and a look at the past. The Lodge has been nicely restored and includes rooms with antique furnishings. Admission is free. Since it is a three-story building...More

Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge stands on the edge of Epping Forest, and has great views, both from the windows and from outside. We've visited it several times, and will continue to visit whenever we're in the area. Entrance is free, and there are free car-parks...More

Privately owned and well cared for. Absolutely recommend. I was visiting the Scouting Center up the road and came across it accidentally.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this visit. The impressive white building, nearly 500 years old, suddenly comes into view as you drive through the forest. Car park opposite, small visitor centre and pub / restaurant adjacent. Nice place, worthwhile. Needs some TLC...More

I have eaten at the pub next door many times but only went to see the lodge yesterday. What an amazing building and fantastic place to visit with kids. I would recommend combining it with a walk in the woods, and a pub lunch. It’s...More

I don't think the Hunting Lodge would be available for such an occasion, but literally next door the adjacent restaurant 'The Larder at Butler's Retreat' may be able to accommodate you.
