Marvelous day in the mountains. A guided hike took us to the top of the mountain for marvelous views of volcanic mountains. Then back down a different route through the jungle. Lunch was a Filipino selection of chicken and rice, veggies and other delicacies - all delicious! Then we had our choice of spots to rest and relax before the next adventure - a walk through the village to the river for a waterside/river crossing hike. A full day of peace and quiet in the mountain jungle.

My son and I just came back from Mount Purro. We were booked until 14 June, but after just one day we decided to check out. It is so humid! The rooms are not air-conditioned. I was told that there is no air-conditioning, but they reassured me that because of the trees all around the reserve it would be cool. I was sorely disappointed! It gets cooler at night but the humidity is constant.
Even a minute after taking a shower I was sweating. The food is also disappointing. Meat is dry, overcooked. Veggies are cooked in uninspiring ways. I guess you don't go there for the food but for hiking, etc. You need to be forwarned that if you're out of shape don't go. Most places worth seeing can only be shared by going up many stairs. There is no railing along the stairs so if you miss a step you could fall and injure yourself. I will never go back. I lost a lot of money because I paid for 3 nights and 4 days, but never mind: I will not endure another night in that humid cabin. You can only get water by going down to the dining hall. If you find yourself needing a drink at night, you might get into an accident going down the steps with little lighting.

A very good place to relax, recharge and reflect. Escape from the busy city life. The cottage was neat and staff are accommodating. Had a good swim in the pool. Also, the place is instagrammable. 😊 Another thing is they had a great serving of delicious plated meals. We had great time and enjoyed our bonding. Surely we'll
come back and recommend this place.😊

Definitely a recommended place to have your relaxation and connect with nature, we really loved this place. Mount Purro is the best place to spend your weekend with your loved ones. Perfect to have your dinner dates and exclusive fun experiences awaits you. I and my Girlfriend booked for a Casita Room and it was relaxing, with a bit modern amenities. we had lots of activities did. We experienced hiking, swimming, play at the game room. Five star for this place.

We really love the place. The room is big and is well maintained and malinis especially the CR. The food are great, but I hope they have choices. There are guests who have allergies to certain food. Hope you consider it 😊 Too bad, it rained that we were not able to enjoy other amenities. Pagbalik nalang namin 😊 All employees are accommodating, you can talk to them casually. The only problem we encountered is the rough road going to Mt. Purro, we brought a car and talagang sumasayad sa sobrang tataas ng bato and putik.. hope the community or gov't can do something about it. All in all, we had fun. Nice job Mr. Malvar and the rest of crew 😊

If you are looking for place to stay near Metro Manila this is the place to be. Away from the hustle and bustle city life, offers wide variety of recreational activities such as hiking, water rafting, bonfire. For couples I would really recommend to get the Romantic Mountain Retreat package that they offer. It's a complete deal! Aside from the calmness, I love how accommodating everyone is, -the indigenous Dumagat tribe. In-room massage is a must try! We will comeback for sure!

Our barkada went to MPNR while our balikbayan friend was in town. After all, it was just 1 1/2 hours away from QC. We were dealt with overwhelming Filipino hospitality from start to end. Although there was no wifi, Globe signal, tv, or aircon, there were a lot of activities that could be joined that didn’t make us realize that there were none of these. There's the river trek, which was the activity that the kids enjoyed the most. The interaction with the Dumagats, who were the natural inhabitants of the mountains and generously welcomed by MPNR. The community bonfire. The hike up Malvar’s Peak. During lull times, we enjoyed staying in our accommodations and in the many cabanas, while the kids swam in the pool, explored the play area, and braved the zipline. Actually, we found ourselves eating in the very homey Loli’s kitchen every few hours. The food was just excellent. The home-cooked buffet spread always hit the spot and the staff was attentive. Not having an aircon wasn’t an issue at all. We came first week of February, so it was pleasant even in the afternoon. We slept without even opening the ceiling fan in our loft. It was a special kind of adventure for our barkada. We were reminded of the basics which truly matter, and left with a sense of respect and responsibility. On the way home, we were already talking about going back with our own families and recommending the experience to other friends.

The resort is nicely built while preserving the forest/nature. Stayed in a casita which was very spacious and clean. The windows are all screened to keep insects out but allows fresh cool air to come in. The staff are very warm and accommodating. And last but not the least, food was really good! Highly recommend this if you're looking for a nearby getaway from the city.
