Playa La Caleta (which means “Beach Cove”) or PLC for short, is an eco-tourism resort with a 100-hectare cove. Located in the municipality of Morong in the province of Bataan, it has a 1-kilometer white sand beach at the front, lush mountain jungle/forest in the middle and 3 waterfalls at the back. On the left side of the cove is also a 1-hectare islet, called Miguelito Island.

    Amazing trip. Truly memorable.
This place is amazing. Friendly staff, beautiful beach and scenery. The water is very clear and refreshing at this time of the year. Accommodation was fantastic as we stayed in the family glamping tents. The only problem we had was the mosquitos due to the fresh water pools running down the side. Maybe some zappers need to be installed on every glamping tent. Overall a truly memorable few days.

    10/10 experience!!!!
We went for new years and the energy was on point! Many activities to keep us busy but if I’m being honest hanging out in the warm water and eating fresh coconuts was the icing on the cake. From the breathtaking backdrops to the amazing staff this experience is one I will never forget. 10/10!! Can’t wait to go back

    Epic night at PLC!
we held our wedding after party here for a mixed party of international and Filipino guests. Everyone had an incredible time. From the moment we arrived, staff was welcoming and helpful to get our large party checked in. We enjoyed breakfast lunch and dinner- when booking we told them of a few dietary needs, and then we had no issues! Gorgeous views and hospitality. Excellent option for a large group.

Would like to give an honest take on this place and it was definitely a great place to relax. HOWEVER, the snorkeling spots they bring you have zero fishes and clams so I do not recommend wasting money on the boat ride going there (there are more fishes near the shore).

The second honest take I have will be dedicated to the terrible staff (except one who might be the manager who is very accomodating). I would understand if this place was fairly priced but no, it’s very expensive. With this, you expect great service from everyone whom went through training but in this case it was the opposite. Just serving drinks and food they fall short seeing how some of the staff was lazy to even serve or even take down orders properly. One order took three tries for them to actually punch it in so i just left telling them to cancel it (assuming they even took it down the third try). The staff also gave many excuses on their end which was very annoying and most were unreasonable.

The food is okay but it takes almost an hour to serve (considering the location wherein we cant go out to eat we expect the food in the resort to make up for it). I really hate how they are somehow bipolar with what is available and what is not. They really need to strategize better (not invalidating some of their efforts).

There are many more bad experiences but it might weaken this review. If you guys want to see it for yourself I wont stop you, I am just saying there are better places out there where your money is worth it.

All in all, the people who make your stay great matters and it really does not depend on the location for most times.

PLC was recommended by my friend who recently visited with family. If you are the type of person looking for quiet time, fresh air and would want to be one with nature then this is the place to be. Their ”bilao service” complete with seafood, pork bagnet and chicken binakol were all very delectable and superb.

They immediately failed from the start. I booked for a stay with friends for holy week, the booking is automatically payed and I very much understood what was written in the terms; that there is no refund nor cancellation. Two weeks prior the said dates, i called, no answer on the phone not even replied on my messages so i emailed them and they replied after 1 week with my inquiries. Two days before our scheduled date, i emailed and texted (not answering my call) that we need to backed out, thus need to rebooked. They replied for hours and at late night. Not even asking when to rebook, I decided not to pursued my message (Its a wasted money for me). The day of our scheduled date came and someone call around 7pm if we are going, that's when I told them that we were not. I told them that I kept on reaching out but no ones replying, she told me that it's holiday so no one is available to answer me??!!. The said staff just told me just to email the reservation officer again so that I can rebooked it. However, it's been 3 weeks and no one's even emailing me or calling me to followed up my rebooking dates. Such a waste of money, time, effort for me. I know Morong is a beautiful place (I do work in Bataan and been in Morong), but the management/reservation officer of this resort are failures.

Worst experience ever! Although it has nice facilities, the road to the resort is VERY POORLY CONSTRUCTED. Honestly we almost had a near death experience. The road was very muddy and slippery (coz it rained). Our car almost fell off. We came to the resort to experience relaxation but we went home feeling all the stress in the world.

Clear beach but customer service lacks. Restaurant food choices are not enough and expensive!! You need around 800php per person per meal. That’s around 2500php per person daily. The mosquitoes are large and there’s a lot of them, I am still suffering from mosquito bites. The bed in the glamping tents are not comfortable, there are wires that you can feel when sleeping. The chairs that were given to lounge on are rusty. There’s no toiletries. There’s no Globe signal at all. There’s wifi in the restaurant but they won’t provide the password.

Worst resort we've been to, worst customer service from booking down to their service at the resort! Not worth your money esp if you are booking their glamping family tent. There's not even a tissue paper in the rest room when even a less than 5k resort will give you. There were termites and spider webs in our room too. The road going down is very steep, scary and no one even tried to set expectation about it.

Overrated, not worthy of being called 4 star hotel. The beach was dirty, lots of garbage all over. Had to help clean up. They offer free coffee (lukewarm) for every bag you fill with garbage and collect from the beach but gosh why don't you just clean and maintain it. Black sand, no wifi, cold food and bad customer service. Admin is not doing a good job (lady with thick blush not sure what her name is). She offered activities and so my ate got the package with said amenities. Were told we can't do any of those so just had to swim in a beach full of trash . Offered surfing for compensation but only had couple of boards to use and it was already a few hours before check out. Honestly do not recommend. Guess they only provide good customer service to their "friends" aka Celebrities

Too expensive. Not worth it. Took the family glamping tent. No signal, no TV, so dark. There are "swimming pools" outside the tents but looking dirty. I don't know if anyone goes there. Not worth the price! Even the internet is expensive. The restaurant doesn't look good also. There's mini mart, but ang dami kulang. I should have known.. Sorry!

The beach is ok.

Overall, I don't recommend. 🙄 Okay only for a day tour. Bye!

PLC is the opposite of what they claim to be as a company.

Before my booked date August 20, 2018, PLC failed to inform me that the whole PLC will be closed on the last two weeks of the month. Thus, on the same day, my family (15pax) waited at the PLC Morong waiting area for nothing. Yes I called them several times but they even doubted me in the process as they say they already informed all guests. After that incident, nothing was heard from their camp even though I asked for an incident log. It was only until almost a month(Sept 18) when I received an apology letter asking for my bank account details (to return my deposit) which I already sent out last August following the incident. After that, nothing is heard from them again.

This is to let the public know how incompetent PLC management is. The customer service sucks bigtime (including their email server), their incompetent doubtful staff and this unapologetic company.

I am greatly appalled how PLC failed miserably in addressing this kind of issue as a company who should have had great core values. I believe no PLC guest must experience the same unfortunate incident ever.

I think I have given so much patience for more than 2 months already and I am sure after this public post they will try to appease and communicate again after the incident. Thank you.

Gray sand.
Garbage everywhere. The 200 entrance fee for daytrip is too high as you will be seeing a place with lots of trash.
Photos and articles i've seen in the internet about the place are not even close.
Dogs, chickens, and goose are freely roaming in the area.
Boat is Php1,800 roundtrip, which I think is expensive since it's just a 20-minute ride.
Waste of time, effort and money. Better go to anawangin or nagsasa cove, they're much better.

Dear Mincoz85, This is from the PLC team. First of all, on behalf of PLC we would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience described in your trip advisor message. For us, the way to put right to this is to provide an action plan to remediate the issues. For this we would also like to thank you sincerely for providing us with this valuable feedback. This will allow us to do better. Rest assured we are currently making sure these issues are put at ease. With regards to Gray sand remark, we would just like to relay some information to you. You came to visit PLC during the habagat or monsoon/southwest season which is usually June to November. During these months, waves are present and this naturally makes our sand more gray than our usual white sand during the Amihan or northeast season, which is usually December to May. During these months, the sand turns around, the sand goes down to the sea because of the waves and typhoons, and the bottom sand goes up afterwards. This explains the sand color. We wish you can visit during the peak or amihan months to experience the whiteness of our sand. Many resorts around the Philippines experience this phenomenon during the habagat season. With regards to waste disposal, this is one of the main challenges on the island. Rest assured that internally our operations is acting on the matter continuously with additional resources allocated for it. At the same time, externally we are continuously campaigning for responsible travelling among dear guests to help in preserving PLC. In addition, during the habagat season which has started, waste from the sea (not really from the resort or its guests in general) come inward (in front of PLC is the open sea and Vietnam, but garbage from nearby zambales might also be in the area) via big waves and the recent typhoons, this makes our tasks tougher. But we are committed and driven to make good to Mother Nature. You also came at a time of 2 Typhoons recently hitting the island. These brought trash that we are still cleaning and segregating. Our isolation from the main land does not allow us to be part of the local support given to these situations. But Aside from daily cleaning by our team, We have also realigned our housekeeping team to make sure night time cleaning is conducted regularly. We also conduct regular Beach Clean Ups with our guests, and soon we will be starting our Eco Bricks (Bricks made of plastic / plastic bottles) to convert trash to a new library and bike rental station. We hope you can join some time. This is an important issue for us because we are a turtle and brahminy kite eagle sanctuary, our environment is the utmost importance that is why we campaign daily with regards to garbage disposal and responsible travelling. PLC is currently at varying stages of development and construction, not just with facilities like the restaurant, aircon beach rooms, and new products/services, but also internally with the new team members and systems and processes. For the entrance fee, our guests can enjoy free use of the 1-kilometer white sand beach & waist-deep waters, bathroom & shower facilities, twenty eight (28) outdoor showers, free PLC mineral water refilling, two (2) natural spring pools, hammocks & beach umbrellas/chairs, tire swing areas, use of open-type kitchen & grill area, access to the office lounge area, general store & sports shop. The entrance fee also includes access to the bird/fowl mini-zoo, Miguelito Island’s tidal pools, cliff jumping area and snorkeling areas at the bottom of the island. For overnight guests, they can enjoy movie nights at the beach, acoustic night, and other special parties & events for guests. But with the new season fast approaching we shall have new exciting events like the film festival, eco bricks program, giant slide reinstallation, eagle watching, turtle laying event, etc. With regards to pictures and videos, as mentioned these are taken at different seasons by many guests and media. And so it is very subjective and would be hard to determine. But for all guests, we send our PLC information email which contains FAQ, Menu, Pictures, Videos, Maps, etc. Were you able to receive this prior to your booking or were you a walk-in guests? In hindsight, the PLC info email should have sent and read prior to your trip to set expectations. May we know your email address? Thank you We have a resident goose (2 of them), 1 turkey, 1 chinese giant chicken and 2 ducks. They were in the mini zoo before but recently because of the 2 typhoons they were let out to roam. They are the PLC pets, they have been domesticated and tamed and prove no harm to anyone. They shall be placed back in their new mini zoo area in the next season. As PLC is a Nature Park, animals exist on the island. For the dogs, we have tied them up already in the staff house, thank you for calling our attention, we shall have our site team check on this. With regards to boat transfers, we will cite an excerpt from the FAQ in the PLC information email we send to all guests who book “With regards to Boat Transfers, this can be arranged for you together with your booking. Please refer to the PLC Menu attached for the updated rates. The current rate of Php1,800 is for a round trip (transfer and pick up). Be cautious of other boatmen who charge higher than our published rates. Ask for our assistance. Boats used are the typical local outrigger boats that have a capacity of about 10 persons. They must have life vests as these are mandatory to wear during travel. Do not use a boat that has no life vests. PLC has a list of accredited boatmen that can be recommended to you. Others prefer to make this arrangement on their own, and that is totally fine. There 2 recommended ports from where you can ride the boat transfer to PLC: a. Fajardos Resort (Bagac, Bataan) - around 25-30 minutes boat ride b. La Salle School (Morong, Bataan) – around 10-15 minutes boat ride Especially for solo travelers or couples, it is advisable to inform us ahead of time, as it is possible that you can “boat pool” with other guests who are open to share their boat with you, to save on costs.” The 1800 fee is the standard fee of boatmen associations in Bagac, Morong and Mariveles. It is meant for a group of 10 or 180 pesos each. How many were in your group? Perhaps we could have done the Boat Pool option mentioned above for your group. In the near future, PLC will open to the public its new Parking Lot Road - road at the back of the property connecting to the main highway. This will eliminate the need for boat transfers. But to preserve its eco-tourism facilities and natural treasures, a parking lot and receiving area will be built near the entrance of the road, and guests will be picked up and brought in by a small electric powered transport system. We are currently pilot testing this and implementing safety measures before we open it to the public.. Again, our sincere apologies and heartfelt thank you for sharing this with us. Salamat, PLC
