This Castle is a restoration under construction as the original was destroyed long ago. But in walking vicinity, there are some lovely old straw houses you can visit. When the construction is done, it'd be an attractive sightseeing spot!

Nothing special if you have seen other Japanese castles. We were lucky to be there during the Scarecrow Festival so there was lot to do in the castle grounds. Unless visiting the onsens, it's really the only tourist sight in town

Highlights include the rotating crane sculpture that appears out of nowhere, the statues of yamabushi mountain monks who blow into big conches, and the cute mascot characters! Go Kaminoyamaru!

Just a perfect place to sit back and just give yourself a moment of relaxation while watching the breathtaking view of Kaminoyama.
