Magical place
5.0 of 5 bubblesJul 2019
This place is magical with all its sandstone rocks rising from the earth. It is not huge, but larger than I expected, and it takes over an hour to walk around the formation. If I understood the information well, the rocks were formed by glaciers at the time that Gondwana was still one big continent consisting of the current southern continents. The pictures speak for themselves. Guides speak Portuguese and very little english, which is the main disadvantage of this attraction, which maybe should have the same fame as the Iguazu falls. The other attraction in the same park are the 'furnas', which are large holes in the ground, created by water digging out holes underground, eventually leading to a collapse of the roofs. Although less picturesque, I think this is worth seeing and knowing about. The nature here is also not to be underestimated. I saw several predator birds, one of them a carcara, which the other tourists and the guide didn't seem to find very special. And I saw that another tourist got a picture of a big spider at the furnas. There are also hundreds if not thousands of andorinhaos at the furnas. Some practical info.: The bus to return to Curitiba arrives between 15.45 and 16.00. Be sure not to miss this one. If you arrive at the park just after 10.00, you should be fine to do both tours (to the sandstone rocks and to the furnas), and you'll have some spare time to eat a snack. To arrive at 10.00, you should take the bus from Curitiba to Ponte Grossa at 8.30. Ask the driver to stop at Vila Velha - he won't stop otherwise. Costs at the park are 28 reais in total (in the weekend at least). I believe the bus costs also about 28 reais one-way.

We made the walk under the stars. Simply sensational. The guides have a lot of astronomical, geological and conservation knowledge and greatly praise the natural wonder of observing the night stars in the midst of a unique rock formation. Unique moments we will bring in our memories. The walk is quite light, but it takes approximately 5km back and forth. I recommend taking repellent... and be prepared not to use cell phones during most of the rides. Highly recommended!

I had the opportunity to do the Night Walk in Villa Velha on July 20. Actually, I don’t even know where to start this review. The cold was in the background and, according to one of the guides, we only see the wonders of the sky when we expose ourselves to the cold of winter. And if there's a flu, it's a cheap price for the wonder of this experience. The tour begins with a tour of the solar system, observation of stars, planets, knowledge of the fauna and flora, all this watered to many laughs and a great teaching of the instructors who are patient and very competent. The Park is a separate show, with all its legends, stories and possibilities of pareidolias! It's worth it! Those who have not yet come, come enjoy the natural illumination of the full moon and all the charms that nature provides for a little in real. I will do it again, in another moon, in other seasons, so I can enjoy even more! A connection tour with the universe!

t is a wonderful place to know the evolution of the planet Earth.
You can see the effect of wind, rain, over millions of years on the rocks.
Moreover, in the vicinity, there are interesting caves and lakes.

It is a very famous atraction in Ponta Grossa. I believe it is the kind of atraction that you must know (specially for being the most famous turistic atraction of Ponta Grossa) but, for me, honestrly, it was boring. But, it is the kind of actraction that you must do and take your own opinion...

I really liked the sandstone part, I found it really amazing and impressive and very well worth it. The part of the ovens tb is very beautiful and tb is a quick walk. Now to such golden lagoon was a horror pq was infested with mosquitoes and the journey there is made in a very precarious bus, not to mention q is a lake without grace and without any attraction. Vc arrives there and the bus leaves, then vc has q to wait for another return being q the tour is 5 minutes and the bus takes 30, not counting q nobody warned q they had q obligatory to use repellent, so the staff left down with about 100 bites. In fact, neither with the repellent holds so much insect bites, in short do not take children and allergic people.
The price of the ticket I found high, so to value the price paid go only we two tours q indicated, otherwise will pass a lot of anger as I passed!!!!
