Astonished! Honestly I wasn't really expecting much, thinking it should be a bit of Japanese version of old-fashioned American revue or something, but the quality of the show was amazing. As is known well, Takarazuka Revue has been a kind of counterpart of male-only kabuki;...More

The present beautiful production was not my cup of tea. Not only was it standing room only for 3 hours but the plot was strange with Louis XIV appearing in a production timed in our present day and it was all Japanese dialogue without any...More

This is a Japanese equivalent of professional "Broadway"--1920-30s-style, with high production values, great singing and dancing (singing is amplified), with shows that change regularly (perhaps monthly). They have a theater in Tokyo, that runs an alternate show, but this is the "home" venue. Apart from...More

About ten minutes walk from the station on the lovely footpath (Hanano-Michi),we...More

I have been dreaming for over a decade to see the Takarazuka Revue, and was so lucky to see them perform an adaptation of one of my favourite manga/anime series 'Rurouni Kenshin'. The show was so much fun, costumes and set design was impeccable, and...More

We heard of this revue quite by chance. I researched it a little, especially the history of city. It is a bizarre story, which I urge you to delve into. Anyway, back to the revue. First of all, we found it quite difficult to buy...More
