A very pleasant little town with many specialist wood carving shops. You can see the craftsmen working in the shops, and go in to purchase work done on site.

This little town is obviously a popular stop for the tour buses. The parking lot at the bottom of the street leading to the temple was full of busses when we stopped midmorning. The temple gate is one of the finest examples of woodcarving that...More

The temple, art of wood curving, their people, their sake, and tasty yet crunchy rice crackers... Everything I put my hands on, hear about, observe, and taste became my amazement.
