Mt. Batulao is my very first mountain to climb and my very first travel with my friends. This is very perfect for a newbie like me because it is not so tilt and has a very easy path walk. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it until...More

This is a perfect mountain to climb for if you are just a newbie in hiking. When I am on it, I feel like I'm in Batanes. The view is majestic and lovely!

My friends recommended this as a beginner hike. It was raining during our assault so we bought raincoats. A friend also told me that it was hot during their climb so I didn't bring a jacket. I was crazy to do that. Good thing, during...More

This is one of the country's most popular "beginner" hikes. If you're an American, it is a "moderate" hike. The Philippines is one of the countries where outdoor infrastructure is not mass-funded so our trails are often un-manicured and very steep. Mt. Batulao, with an...More

They say Mt.Batulao is "beginner-friendly" and considered to be a "minor" climb, but if this is your first hike i would still suggest that you go jogging or hit the gym a month prior to your hike. The trail alternates between steep and flat, and...More

We trekked to the summit via the new trail which is relatively the easy trail.. and return to base via the old trail where strong grip and legs are definitely needed. Some parts of the old trail were slippery and steep. Climbed Mt. Batulao with...More

My friend and I went up Mt. Batulao in March. We almost were not able to climb as at that time, there was an issue with communists hiding in the mountains, and there were even soldiers present the night prior! Good thing our guide helped...More

One thing I like about Batulao is that it is a good mountain to climb and train, esp. if you are a beginner. There is a mini ridge (insert the correct term if I am wrong) there where you should be really careful with your...More

No worries, you can hike anytime but please alert with the weather. Last december, the weather was awful and the trail very slippery, it is dangerous to hike in rainy season. Better hire a guide if you plan to follow the... More
