If you like food and cooking then you'll love Matters of Taste Cooking School. Established in 1997, owner Tracey Cotterell and her team have been inspiring home cooks with over 35 entertaining and delicious classes. From Spanish Tapas to Intoxicating Thai, Essential Knife Skills to Preserving and Fermenting, just about anything you want to learn is available here. Using fresh local produce you can choose to immerse yourself in a hands on class and get in on the chopping and sizzling action. Or sit back, relax and watch the chefs create the dishes in front of you in a demonstration style event. Walking into our kitchen at Matters of Taste you are not just entering a teaching arena but a complete experience for the senses and soul. The sights, sounds and smells along with the energy of the facilitators and other participants will give you a tingle of excitement. Join us soon, book a place in a fun and entertaining class. This is my third class. I have loved all of them. Very informative and hands on at helping prepare the food is great. It's a fantastic 3 hour expected and you get to sit down and enjoy the amazing food with lovely people. Tracey is very good at her job. I look forward to my next class.

This was a great experience or should I say awesome. Very well organised and polished. To be able to get ten people to make a meal, with varying degrees of expertise, was an excellent outcome. I recommend this highly.

A very informative night at Matters of Taste Cooking School. The Gutsy Pharmacist Amanda came along to speak about Gut Health, whilst Tracey and Briony had us all preparing and cooking some wonderful food. Great to be able to participate rather than just watch. Can highly recommend and a great learning experience. Well done ladies !

Second class we’ve done here and just as informative, relaxed, inspiring and delicious as the first! This time we tried New York Nosh and it was simply heavenly. Wonderful teachers who explain every without making you feel inept made us all feel like Masterchefs! Great company, really relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Will definitely be back (again!).

We had a work social club even here and cooked Mexican Food. The whole night was fun. We had excellent instruction from Briony, we managed to prepare and cook an amazing meal and had lots of laughs as well. The food was terrific but the experience was top notch. Thanks to Briony for a wonderful night.

This is a great place to learn to cook different cuisines in a fun environment.. take your friends and pick one of many classes..I have done a few now and they are all fabulous..

Lodged this review under the previous location. I undertook this course at their brand new and very nice location. Please read on:
I received a cooking class gift voucher for my birthday in May. The hardest thing to do was choose what class I wanted to do. They all sound great. Ended up with Classic French. Was not disappointed at all.
This class was in their new location. Very slick and professional! Great secure undercover parking as well. The class was amazing. Learnt a lot and had a great time with other like minded people.
Creme Brulee has been mastered at home since. A firm family favourite now. As are the crepes with mushroom, leak and that soft cream cheese. Spare crepes didn't last either. They taste amazing and are so easy.
Havent tried cooking the Confit Duck. But that shouldn't be a problem at all. As at the end you get great glossy recipe cards to take home.
Thoroughly enjoyed it all and it is definitely recommended. The problem is what course to do next.

We bought tickets for a friend's birthday as a surprise and went along as well - what a great morning!
The venue is first class - light, bright and roomy, centrally located off Canning Hwy, and parking provided.
We learned some HOW to make pickled and fermented foods and drinks, and some WHY - the scientific and dietary background and why it's so good for you. Picked up lots of handy dietary, prepping and cooking tips learned along the way.
Had a break to enjoy some of the "ones they prepared earlier" - delicious food and beverages and were sent on our way with jars of our earlier work and instructions on how to do it again.
Tracey and Julia were fantastic instructors and good fun.Can't wait to attend another class soon.

lolitaiwish we are thrilled you loved the Farmhouse Kitchen Table class. I made sausages at home on Sunday using our recipe and make our bacon on a regular basis as well. As teachers we trust, love and use our recipes at home as well as at work as we design and develop them! It's our hope that people enjoy the genuine excitement as we pass on our professional kitchen know-how and that this inspires people like you to make them at home to share with your loved ones.
