This was a pleasant place. Glass blowing there is beautiful and if its something you love you will enjoy it. The pieces were expensive and you need to pay to see the demonstration. They also do not take credit cards so take cash. The food...More

What a pleasure to sample, leisurely, the wonderful glass collections designed by Dutch masters! Apart from functional objects the museum also exhibits art objects. Moreover, it hosts temporary exhibitions (currently: Ettore Sottsass, until 2 October 2016). Some of the work can be enjoyed in the...More

The glassmuseum is very good. They show glass made by different artists. There are also older things to see and you can buy presents for a good price. An attraction to visit on a rainy day. You can also see pears growing in a glass...More

The national glass museum in Leerdam could be so much better if only... they added a permanent section on the history of working with glass and if they had more signs with items on display. The staircases could use some TLC as well. That being...More

The title 'national glass museum' sets high expectations, and these weren't met. As a Tripadvisor commenter before me mentioned, there is no explanation of the development of glass-making. There are two fairly small buildings with exhibitions, and the connecting corridors, at 3 or 4 levels,...More

Actually quite disappointing: we expected the history of glass-making in Holland and got a couple of expositions, lots of pieces from the depot and that's about it...

We liked the demonstration!, artists were making a big glass statue and were experimenting. You can watch them working all the time! There is a restaurant, the museum is located in the harbour and ofcourse there is an exhibition of glass! We haven't been there...More

Unless you understand Dutch it is not likely that you will enjoy this experience. I did not pay the fee to go into the glassblowing area...I live in Tacoma, Washington and the work of Dale Chihuly abounds so I have the opportunity to see the...More

The most interesting part of this museum is the open depot, which offers you insight in the development of glass (art) products in the 20th century, especially by showing products designed by the the artist Andries Copier, a great name in this field of expertise....More
