Beautiful outside view of the castle. Ive never been inside so can't comment but from the outside of the castle it's outstanding. It's a must place to visit. I took photos passing by.

Better than most because it’s smaller and more manageable Castle guarded an important river less expensive to visit than most, perhaps less commercially managed

Yesterday we left Alnwick Castle with some knowledge of Harry Potter, very informed about the demands of filming Downton Abbey but zero ideas of the history of Alnwick other than what servants were paid and how many of these poor souls lost their lives in...More

We went on a quiet day later on in the day. It wasn't too busy so easily got round. We had the audio tour which I would fully recommend as it is very informative. Friendly staff that were very helpful with all questions. Some very...More

Lovely friendly staff, the audio tour was brilliant especially for me as the stone steps were too steep for me to go up to the upper floors so I made myself comfy on a stone seat and used my imagination, my husband then walked to...More

The castle is great but what really sets this off is the short ferry trip to the Hermitage with Mick who is a thoroughly top drawer fellow! Really interesting visit but be warned, not all of the site is open every day; pick your day...More

Medieval pageants are great fun for all the family and are free if you are a member of English heritage. A great day out.

It was £7.50 each for us to look round Walkworth Castle, we felt it was worth every penny. The 2 ladies that were working were very friendly, they made us feel welcome and fussed over our dog. The audio guide gave good direction where to...More

There is a castle in every village on the Northumberland coast and this is one of the most impressive. Well preserved and with English Heritage to maintain it. The audio guide was free but did not allow independent wandering. The car park fee is refundable...More

Adults are £5.80, children between 5-15 are £3.40, and a family (2+3) is £15.00. The Concession rate is just barely a concession at £5.20. If you have an English Heritage membership, entrance is free. I hope you enjoy it!
