Didn't get to see the hermitage. The castle is well preserved and interpretation good. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The parking is right opposite the entrance if you are driving and if staying local, right in the middle of the town and close to all...More

You have to pay for parking, on the grass next to the Castle (£3.50) but you get this back when you presented your membership card or pay the entrance fee. We went around the Castle with a couple of their audio guides, which were very...More

Worth a visit but need the headset in order to understand the history of the place. Lovely walk along the river to take the boat across to see the Hermitage.

Staying in Warkworth the castle was a 5 minute walk away. It's run by English Heritage and there is a lot of history here. You can have a free audio guide to help you trace the areas in and around the Castle and grounds. Another addition...More

English Heritage lives up to its reputation with the presentation of the grand castle and its humbler but entrancing relative across the river Coquet. The guides and the boatman were genuinely friendly and full of useful information. I did have an audio guide but pressed...More

I walked here one morning from Amble (great walk along the river) and arrived right before the castle opened. £6.80 for entry. It’s a beautifully kept castle - friendly curators and a fantastic audio guide. The main part of the castle is largely intact and...More

Adults are £5.80, children between 5-15 are £3.40, and a family (2+3) is £15.00. The Concession rate is just barely a concession at £5.20. If you have an English Heritage membership, entrance is free. I hope you enjoy it!
