Neighborhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Best view in New York- great for groups
The best view in New York and such incredible staff that made the experience even more special. We were a group of 17 students and 3 adults and every member of staff was so helpful, kind and happy. From our tour guide Micah who was hilarious and made us giggle throughout the tour to each member if the security team and top of the rock staff who were helpful from top to bottom including Sharnell and her team. A huge thank you and a must see for anyone visiting New York. Definitely the best to go at night to see the whole city lit up- we went at 7pm for our tour and were at the top for 8pm. Do not miss!
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review after your visit! We will be sure to pass these kind words along to the wonderful team at Top of the Rock. Bring your whole group back soon, we'd love to see you again!

    Best view in New York!
Truly the most stunning view in NYC! I absolutely loved my visit to Top of the Rock where I got to experience the most beautiful sunset. Crowd control could be improved, especially at busy times as moving around got difficult and exiting the viewing decks was a nightmare. But truly such a special experience!
We're so glad you enjoyed the views! Thank you for this constructive feedback, we will pass it along. We hope your next visit is even better.

Breathtaking view and the kindest staff
I had a layover at JFK and decided to get a first glimpse of NYC. I only had an hour to spend in Manhattan and I'm so happy I spent it visiting Top of the Rock. The view was breathtaking and Danny and Erica at the entrance were literally the kindest and super helpful, they honestly made my day! It wasn't too crowded and I loved that you got the 360 view and could see the Empire State Building. Will definitely go back next time I'm in New York.
We are honored to have gotten the precious few moments you had in Manhattan! We'll make sure Danny and Erica get your message and we can't wait to welcome you back.

    Amazing views
Amazing views of Central park and Empire state building. You can see the views through a glass or go higher and see views without a glass wall. Be prepared for a que when going up or down for the elevators (10-30 minutes)
We're so glad you like the views! Great advice for our future visitors. We hope to welcome you back soon!

    Outstanding Views…not very organised.
An absolutely amazing view - the best i’ve seen in New York and a beautoful location. However the queueing system was a joke considering how quiet the attraction was - there was a lot of unecessary walking around pointless tensabarrier queue systems that could have been opened up and made more accessible. Initiative rather than staff standing around doing nothing would have been advantageous. We needed to leave urgently, however we were told by an employee that we had to queue for a photo first and couldn’t jump the line. We simply wanted to go to the elevator and head downstairs - but the employee didn’t show empathy and may as well have been a robot. This put us off returning as we felt trapped and herded.
We're sorry to hear about some of the negative aspects about our attraction. We can appreciate where you're coming from, it can be difficult for us to be prepared for the slow times and the busy times all at once, not knowing when things will pick up. We will pass this feedback along. Have a great day!

    Spectacular views
The views from the Top of the Rock were breathtaking, an amazing way to see New York. Staff were efficient and friendly. A must see when in NYC! Sadly the toilets on 66th floor were disgusting at the time of our visit.
We're so glad you enjoyed your visit! We appreciate the feedback and we will be looking into this. Thanks!

Not cheap, but a must do…
As anything else in NYC, the trip to the top of the Rockefeller center is not cheap. But it does deliver. Thus view is in my opinion the best observation deck view there is in NYC: nice direct line of sight towards Empire State and downtown, as well as all other direction. Taking stunning pictures is easy here… staff is quite unfriendly and very directive.
We really appreciate this review! Thanks for taking the time and we hope to welcome you back soon. Have a great day!

    Great Views!
Visited during the busiest week of the year-between Christmas and New Year's. Ordered tickets online w/a fast elevator to the top to avoid the lines (more expensive, but well worth it this time of year). Opened ended time on the tickets, so we timed it to be there a little before sunset to see the city in the daylight, at sunset, and all lit up at night. Everything went smoothly except for the annoying young women who hogged the very front of the top on the Empire State Building side. They stayed FOREVER taking the same selfies over and over and over. Luckily, we had a pretty good view, but not so for others. We left and went to a lower deck and when we were leaving that deck, the girls were still in front of everyone (and still taking pix). Most people take a few minutes to enjoy the view, take a few pix, and then have the courtesy to move and let others enjoy the front row view, too. I wish workers had been up there to help w/situations like that.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad to hear that your experience was mostly smooth, but we're sorry to hear about the aspect that took away from the overall experience. We will be passing this review along to management for further review so that hopefully your next visit is a 5-star experience!

    Good views, horrible staff
The views were spectacular after sunset. 50% of the employees are very nasty and try to be funny by embarrassing the guests. You’d think that a NYC attraction such as this one would train its employees to treat the guest better, considering the cost and travel for many of us.
We're sorry to hear about this. We are passing this feedback along to management. Thank you for taking the time to write this review, have a wonderful day.

Good experience but long queues to get in !
We had to queue outside to get in, and then again inside . We had a City Pass but still had to o get tickets, hence another line. So all in all about 1 hour wait (we had arrived at 9am at opening time, the line seemed to be bigger outside by the time we left) Great views from the top, particularly of Empire State Building on one side, and Central Park on the other. It was busy, but we were able to take some good photos.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! We're glad you enjoyed the experience and braved the crowds to visit us. We hope to welcome you back soon!

Travelled to Top of the Rock with my wife and in-laws. My mother in law walks with a stick and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful getting helping her through as quickly as possible.

Well, we never did make it up there. Two different days they were sold out for the next 7 hours. We were finally able to reserve tickets for two days out at 4:00. When our time finally arrived , we were excited. But first of all, if you show up even a moment before your scheduled time, they’re barking at you to come back at your time. So we waited in line number 1 on the street and then at exactly 4:00, not 3:59, we were let in the building. We waited in line number 2 at security. They were only letting about 6 people through at a time. We finally got through security about 4:30, turned a corner, and saw that line number 3 had about 100 people in it. At that point, we realized that we did not have time to wait in that line and also make it to the rest of our plans, so we turned around and left.
During our stay in New York we visited The Empire State Building, One World Observatory, and The Edge. None of them had any of the issues we ran into at Top of The Rock. Don’t waste your time or money here!

The views are great, although there are many new high-rises stealing perspectives, especially on Central Park side. Getting up (ca. 10 minutes) was much easier than getting down (more than half an hour). Bad visitor management.

Such a amazing experience, with some of ( if not) the best views of New York City. I bought a ticket for a slot one hour before sunset, which was perfect as you can see the city in daylight, before it transforms before your eyes into the city that never sleeps. Must visit attraction in NYC.

I booked the VIP package as I wanted a solo photo on the beam and I was short of time. The day was sunny and bright and David took us through some of the behind the scenes areas such as the Rainbow room and the art works - he was knowledgeable and brought it all alive. The beam was well organised - it’s different and the photos were well done - it’s probably expensive for a family group but it is sort of iconic!!

Absolutely worth doing! Spend any amount of time in NYC, and you will marvel at seeing it from 70 stories or so up! I arrived on a Friday morning for the 10:15 entry. I didn't buy tix in advance because the weather looked iffy the week I was going to be in the city. I woke up to a sunny sky, purchased my ticket while on the sidewalk out front, and then strolled right in, absolutely alone. There were very few people in general at this hour, which was awesome. No lines. Crowded elevators, but that's expected. Note to the claustrophobic. The elevators are designed to display digital light displays to illuminate the car and replicate the ascent and decent through the building as you look up. As you enter the elevator, a guide explains to you how the elevator will ascend and what floors the restrooms are, etc. In the elevator I rode up in, the doors closed and THE LIGHTS WENT OUT. We were in complete darkness. Packed together. And then we started our accelerated ascent. I asked aloud, "Is this supposed to be happening?" And let me tell you, that ride was not over quickly. My chest is getting tight just now while riding this! lol Thankfully, my ears popped which meant we had arrived. The doors opened to bright sunlight and we stepped out of our tomb. I honestly thought it was the intention of Top Of The Rock for the experience of being transported from pitch blackness to the wonderland that is Top Of The Rock, but that wasn't (fortunately for others) the case. Having seen how the elevators are intended to run while on the ride down, I realize it was a malfunction. I did bring it to the attention of someone before leaving. My guess is that unless a guide is riding the elevators with the guests, they won't know what happens once the doors close! Hey! TOP OF THE ROCK: Check your elevators!

Be aware - especially for spring break, the viewing deck has construction.
The descent was limited to one elevator. There was an hour wait to get down. Express tickets will bipass the line.
Until construction is complete, I’d pick another observation option.

The views were nice. We had hoped to catch sunset from here, however, it was extremely crowded. We opted to squeeze in a brief photo opportunity of our family and leave.
