We did this as far of our zip line excursion. I recommend doing it the same way because you don't have to pay the $18pp entrance fee that way. The hike is simple but takes about a half hour. Wear hiking shoes, as opposed to,...More

Our guide, Francisco, was most attentive and knowledgeable. He spotted toucans and shared his knowledge of orchids with my orchardist wife. An outstanding experience.

This was definitely worth the 500 steps! I highly recommended you don’t miss it. I wouldn’t pay for a tour, we drove ourselves the cost is $18 to enter no reservation needed.

Beautiful rainforest hike. Went with the family. The waterfall is stunning and feels extremely refreshing to get in the water at the bottom of the hike. Walking up the steps is great after a big meal to walk off!

It is a very nice waterfall. 500 steps down and then 500 to get back up. Very scenic. Rocks that lead into the water can be very slippery. Water was a wonderful temperature. A nice little adventure.

There are over 500 stairs leading down to the waterfall so be ready for a workout. The stairs are all new so it is very safe unlike the old "stairs". Once you get down you are treated by one of the most beautiful scenes you...More

A lovely swimming pool awaits at the bottom of the 500 steps down.. which means only 1 thing, 500 back up too! Well worth it, choice of the turbulent water in the main pool or shallow bit with a beach.

You don't really need a guided tour. From La Fortuna, we flagged a taxi, paid 5 dollars taxi to the entrance and paid the $30 entrance fee to enter the park. Be prepared for a fairly strenuous hike up. There are no toilet or... More
