This erosive crater , 40 km long 9 km wide 350 m deep is the biggest in the world , some say the nicest. There are many walking or driving routs through this desert attraction. Don’t miss the “Minsara” just before climbing up to Mitzpe...More

We took a 3 hour Jeep ride through the crater with explanations from our driver. We stopped in the middle for refreshments set up for our group in the middle under a lovely shady tree.

Just did a Jeep tour with Deep Desert Israel. The young man Chananya who was our guide was enthusiastic , personable and very knowledgeable. His obvious love of nature and desert environment was very evident and it made the tour. Would highly recommend this outfit...More

Great Views! My first time in a desert crater. There is nothing extraordinary beside that panorama, but it is a must see of course. You can easily discover that crater for several hours, and see always tiny new things in flora, fauna or stones.

We saw parts of the crater and had a guide describe how it was formed and how the water flowed out - really a great experience. It continues to amaze me as to the incredible natural and historical sites are available in Israel!

Gorgeous views. Fascinating million year history. Don't skip it because of fear of the heat- its dry so not as bad as the same temperatures in Tel Aviv. Just be sure to hydrate!

We stay in Beresheet Resort Hotel and enjoy view of the crater. In the evening we had nice sunset dinner on the bottom of the crater. It was very unusual and pleasant. We will recommend to visit the crater.

Very hot when we were there in mid-May. Spectacular views. Take a desert tour if you can. Missed the swimming hole on our tour but went to one at Ein Gedi

The previous two answers need to be read very carefully. Yes, the crater is safe from a security perspective, and yes on the roads, a regular car is fine. But, to see the highlights of the crater, you need to go off road... More

Ein Gedi is a beautiful place near the Dead Sea. It was one of our favourite places that we hiked. You will need a couple of days (minimum) for Jerusalem. Take the tunnels, go to Yad Vashem, the Israel Museum (you could... More
