I spent a morning wandering around the palace grounds observing the fauna and flora of the 19th park. We traveled by bus and had a local guide. The park was well maintained but many buildings were closed to tourists. Nice but rather quotient.
Ayutthaya is an amazing place. But our tour guide constantly referred to stupas as pagodas. He was badly organised and at times rude to his customers.
However the unforgivable thing was how we were not given time to see sights.

hi, Ayutthaya is about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok (approx 2 hrs drive). Ancient capital with extensive archaeological site eg. temple. Definitely worth the visit. Just bring umbrella with you and you will be fine.
