Nice to walk around and take pictures. The river is very active with boat trips available everywhere. At one end of the bridge is a camp (and I used the term loosely) designed to look like like a concentration camp looks very tacky if you...More

Great spot to visit and look into some of the humbling history. Lots of options for kids to get involved with some local kids too.

It is about a two and a half hour drive from Bangkok, but worth every minute of it. I would recommend staying a night or two in the area because there is so much to see.

We organised accommodation in the region hoping to avoid the pitfalls of the day trippers from Bangkok. The River is looong - so a bit more research into the hotel possibilities should have been done. Our resort, The Resotel, was a lovely jungle setting, but...More

It's a great train journey from Bangkok, you catch the train from Thonburi train station which from central Bangkok can take about 45 minutes by taxi. The train journey takes roughly 2 1/2 hours.
